To educate, enrich, and enhance the community
Programs and Services
- Basic Services - The Monongahela Area Library (MAL) supplies books, DVDs, audiobooks, electronic books (e-books), electronic audiobooks (e-audio), and magazines/periodicals for free to all ages in the community with the WAGGIN library card. The WAGGIN system services all of Washington, Greene, and Fayette counties. As a participant, our patrons have access to over 850,000 items, and our collection can be shared with patrons of other area libraries.
- Electronic Services - We provide several public computers that members of the community can bypass the digital divide by using our high-speed internet access for free. Access to our WiFi is free. Printing, copying, and faxing services are also available. Through the WAGGIN system, card holders have access to free databases such as POWER library, the online state library, as well as, Libby, a service to download e-books and e-audio.
- Programs - We offer many fun and educational programs for all ages, from toddlers to seniors. We have weekly Story Times, computer classes, book clubs, a teen program, arts and crafts. Our programs make us a active and central part of the community we serve.
- Local History and Genealogy - Our LH&G Collection has more than 800 volumes including books on our local area. We have a microfilm collection of local newspapers from as far back as the 1800s. We also have Bebout & Yohe funeral home records, which can be viewed with the help of a library employee. We have a private room dedicated to our collection.
