Mission
The mission of the Fort Cherry Foundation is to unite the needs of the Fort Cherry School District with our community partners and their financial resources to strengthen our academic and extracurricular programs to provide enhanced opportunities for our students.
Programs and Services
- The Fort Cherry Foundation is committed to diligently supporting the school community. Teachers have the opportunity to submit teacher grant applications annually. Up to six grants are awarded to fund classroom initiatives and student learning experiences. The Ranger Academy was a remedial and enrichment program funded by the Foundation. Foundation members sought sponsorships to fund the program so that the District could reallocate funds for social studies textbooks. In addition, students were afforded opportunities for more individualized instruction in reading and mathematics. The Foundation works very closely with school administration to make informed decisions on how to best support the school community.
- Throughout this past year, the Fort Cherry community has become more united due to the ongoing student successes in team athletics, individual performance experiences, and growing programmatic offerings. At the core of funding many of the unanticipated costs of this successful year has been the Foundation working to unite the community in supporting our Ranger students. The Foundation remains committed to further financially supporting programs in STEAM, extracurricular activities, student and teacher requests, while partnering with the District for the ongoing success of programs when financial barriers exist in funding public education.
